The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa

The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa lobbyThe Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa was an ambitious project which transformed an old power station into a unique 5 star boutique Knysna hotel. All the old machinery which was used in this power station has been lovingly restored and forms an integral part of the hotel’s aesthetics.

All the artwork displayed on the walls of the Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa is locally produced, and the hotel takes great pride in supporting its heritage. This can be seen in the Forest Wing, where the colors and prints of Clinton Friedman, a famous South African Botanical Photographer, are the inspiration for the decor. Keep an eye out for his close-ups of leaves, seeds, pods, forest trees and the mysterious Knysna elephants. Another example of this is the Thesen Wing, where tribute is paid to the island itself. The décor highlights Knysna’s icons, it utilises the colours of the forest, and it includes imagery of the much-loved Knysna Loerie.

The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa standard bedroomThe hotel offers guests a choice of seventeen standard rooms, six luxury rooms, a honeymoon suite, and two self-contained suites adjacent to the hotel. All standard rooms boast large, comfortable king-sized beds, and a wide variety of convenient amenities, making this a prime spot for accommodation in Knysna. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with a separate shower and bath, two basins and heated towel rails. What’s more, the rooms are secured with a Ving card access system, granting guests a sense of security and relaxation. Each of the rooms provide luxurious amenities such as a flat screen TV, Wi-fi, a fully-stocked mini bar, and a tea and coffee station.

The Turbine Boutique Hotel & SpaThe 90-seater Island Café restaurant at the Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa overlooks the stunning canal, and serves up extraordinary dishes from a diverse a la carte menu. The Gastro Pub and Deck, on the other hand, allows guests to enjoy watching the sun go down, whilst sipping on something from the extensive drinks menu, and filling up on an imaginative pub-style variety of snacks.

The Turbine Spa is one of the finest on the Garden Route, offering guests a wide variety of relaxing treatments from massages to facials and a Rhassoul Steam Room.

Above all else, Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa strives to combine elegance and flair with ultimate comfort and relaxation, to ensure each guest is left feeling like they’ve had a Knysna accommodation experience like no other.
