Sosian Lodge is a 24,000 acre private ranch in the heart of Laikipia, a vast expanse of wilderness in the heart of Kenya’s highlands and home to a huge diversity of mammals and birds. The ranch house accommodates up to 14 people in the atmosphere of a private home with 7 cottages in a tropical garden overlooking Mt. Kenya. Each cottage has its own private verandah and en suite bathroom; the lodge has a swimming pool, tennis court, and organic vegetable garden.
Sosian lies at an altitude of nearly 6,000 feet and has no record of malaria making it attractive for everyone. There is a huge range of activities available including walking, horse-riding, camel safaris, game-drives, night-drives, fishing, bird-shooting, archery, tennis and swimming in the waterfalls. Sosian is well known for its delicious home cooking using fresh ingredients from the garden and its warm and friendly hospitality.
Game viewing in 4×4 vehicles is completely unfenced and wildlife roams freely across open plains and forested riverines. Game drives can take you up to the plains where it is wide open country and you can expect to see oryx, hartebeest ostrich, grant’s gazelle, giraffe, elephant, bat-eared fox, Grevy’s and common zebra.
