Situated on Lemala Hill which is on the uppermost eastern rim of the Ngorongoro crater, the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the only lodge on the eastern rim of the crater; it has a unique and beautiful view down to the crater floor and of the sunset.
The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge has a number of generator systems to provide electricity 24 hour a day, there is also a direct-dial satellite telephone and satellite television. The lodge has a swimming pool on the edge of the crater and a guest shop with a wide selection of items from clothing, film to personal requisites and toiletries. The lodge can also supply petrol and diesel fuel as well as fix most minor repair to vehicles.
With 100 suites all enjoying magnificent views of the crater, each is carpeted and heater by an oil fired central heating radiator. The bedrooms have 2 comfortable queen sized beds and a fully tiled bathroom equipped with bath/shower/and WC. Each of the suites has an enclosed solarium with rocking chairs. There is also a small lounge with a writing desk and mini refrigerator.
