Not sure where to go, best time to travel or what to expect?

Our interactive map below is a useful tool to learn more about each country, its wildlife, culture and more. Deciding where to go on your first safari really depends on your interest. Most clients prefer to ease into Africa by choosing to visit popular national parks and reserves. Repeat clients usually want to explore different parks, stay in unique accommodations and have different wildlife experiences.

Africa is a repeat destination, and we recommend not trying to do everything in one trip. There are two distinct wildlife regions for safari, East and Southern Africa. For a typical two-week safari, our advice is to stay in one region so that you can enjoy and experience it, without feeling rushed. Safari slower, enjoy the moment and bring back memories.

Safari in Southern Africa often includes Cape Town, Victoria Falls and a Safari. The safari aspect can either be in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe or Namibia, or a combination of these countries; each country’s wildlife experiences are uniquely different. For beach lovers, Mozambique is a perfect way to end the trip in Southern Africa.

In East Africa a safari usually includes Maasai Mara, Kenya and Serengeti, Tanzania, in addition to other stunning parks in the region. The Great Wildebeest migration is a bucket list for most clients. Keep in mind that the herds are constantly on the move following the rains. There is not a specific week of the Great Migration, it is not when, but rather where. Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda and Uganda are usually combined with a safari or Zanzibar Island in the Indian Ocean.

For those travelers who can only visit Africa once, and have the time, it is possible to combine Southern and East Africa.
