Guillaume was born in South Africa and his passion for wildlife and safari started at age 4 when he went on his first safari to Kruger National Park. With a master’s degree in wildlife management and several tourism accreditations, he started his career as a general manager of a private game reserve in Greater Kruger with luxury lodging. He was a repeat guest lecturer at the Southern African Wildlife College and volunteered as an Honorary Ranger for SANParks. He made Mozambique his home for more than a decade serving as the managing director of a conservation area with the focus on game reserve management, community development and luxury tourism. Before moving permanently to the US in 2019, he and his wife traveled Africa extensively for 12 months. He joined Great Safaris as the business development manager in 2019 and became the CEO of Great Safaris in 2023. His in-depth knowledge of Africa and its spectacular wildlife, combined with a robust luxury tourism background is of great value in growing Great Safaris as a luxury tour operator specializing in Africa.

Dave Herbert

Dave has been deeply involved in African tourism his entire life, starting as a guide in his early twenties and designing safaris throughout Africa. Following his boots on the ground journey, he launched his first outbound tour operation from the US in 1976. In the late 90’s he sold the company and made South Africa his home when he was actively involved in the development and management of safari lodges in multiple countries in Africa and running an inbound DMC operation. After an exciting time in Africa, he moved back to the US and started Great Safaris in 2010 as a luxury tour operator. As the ex-chairman of USTOA and recipient of multiple awards over the years, he has had a magnificent career dedicated to the Travel Industry.
