Larsen’s Camp, Samburu

Located 320 km north of Nairobi, Larsen’s Camp is a small luxurious tented camp set in lush lawns on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River. You can view birds and monkeys from your room while an animal-viewing platform in the trees lets you scan the vast Samburu plain. Relax on your private deck listening to the wild sounds while the monkeys play in the trees around you.

The Larsen’s Camp dining tent is open on three sides so you can look out over the river while you enjoy a first class dinner served by candlelight. Get taken back in time in the bar where historical artifacts add to the ambiance while you play backgammon or chess. After dinner you can sit around a campfire and chat with other guests or gaze at the Milky Way and see the galaxy as never before.

Larsen’s Camp accommodations are 17 spacious river facing, en-suite tents, raised on wooden platforms, each named after a bird. The decor is camping-in-style with casual colonial elegance, hot showers and a surprising degree of comfort with dressing gowns in the tent and comfortable leather safari chairs.
